Bridge & Tunnel
Magazine

About

Bridge & Tunnel Magazine is focused on building writers' community within the New York City area. We focus on publishing high-quality poetry, fiction, and personal essays from local authors and promote literary events. After our first issue is released, we hope to hold readings, as well. We publish online as well as in print, and will be sold in magazine shops, bookstores, and cafes across all five boroughs! Look below to find the store nearest you!

A catalog of our past issues, spotlights on our authors and editors, as well as information about locations and submissions can be found below.

Past Issues

We are currently open to submissions for our first issue! Check back in a few months for some good reading. Or, if you are interested in being a part of our first issue, continue below to the submissions section.

Locations

Coming soon to a location near you!

Karishma Kesapragada grew up in Central Jersey on public libraries and bagels. She enjoys writing "for the ear" as shown by her recent one woman show "How Did I Get Here?" earlier this year. In the city, Karishma can usually be found sampling momos in Queens, fumbling around Yoseka stationary in Brooklyn, or taking in the Whitney museum in Manhattan.

Catherine Saccone is from Manhattan. She loves to read on the subway and at Brighton Beach; most recently, she was caught with A People's History of the United States on the dance floor of Paragon in Bushwick. Her publications span from art books to short stories. She attends the Coney Island hot dog eating contest religiously.

Meet the Editors

Submissions

We are currently accepting submissions on a rolling basis. Authors interested in submitting can email their work to editors@bridgetunnelmag.com. Please submit your work as a pdf in standardized manuscript format, with the subject line LASTNAME_GENRE_SUBMISSION.

Below are some notes that may help you determine if Bridge & Tunnel is the right fit for your work!

-For prose, we will not be accepting works over 2,000 words

-Poetry should be no more than two pages

-Fantasy and sci-fi will be hard sells

-We do not officially have geographic limitations, but because of our interest in fostering community specifically in the New York area, we will take preference to these authors

IMPORTANT: All authors who submit, regardless of whether they are chosen for publication or not, will be invited to a picnic in Tomkins Park before the release of the inaugural issue.
